Darby's Warrior Support

Darby's Warrior Support is an event to help raise money for wounded veterans. This event will be held on Saturday, August 27, at 6:00 p.m. at the Tech. Center for the Delta, 1790 Falls Blvd. in Wynne. There will be live and silent auctions along with refreshments. Tickets are $100 or $600 for a table. Jilin Smith Fundraiser

Three Trees Cowboy Church will hold a fundraiser for third grader Jilin Smith, who recently lost both parents.  The fundraiser will be held at the church in Wynne on Saturday, August 27, from 4:00-8:00 p.m.  BBQ plates will be available for $10, dine in or carry out. Tabitha's Closet will be open every Saturday in August, from 10:00-2:00 p.m. The focus is on back-to-school clothes. This is the clothing giveaway program for Oak Hill Church of God.

St. Francis Co. Fair

The St. Francis County Fair is coming to town, starting on Monday, August 29, and continuing until Saturday, September 3. Admission is $2 for children up to 12 and seniors 55 or older; it is $3 for all others. Armbands will cost $15 each week night and $20 on Friday and Saturday, some exclusions apply. Rehearsal for all pageant contestants will be on Sunday, August 28, at 2:00 p.m. The schedule of events is as follows:

Gates open at 5:00 p.m. with free admission for all ages.
All rides will be $1 from 6:00-10:00 p.m.
Classic Car Show Entries are at 6:00 p.m.
Arkansas Gospel Jamboree will be at 7:00 p.m.

BBQ Cook-off

The Livestock Association of Eastern Arkansas will host the First Annual Barbeque Cook-Off on Saturday, September 3, from 10:00-3:00 in downtown Forrest City at 208 North Grant Street. The entry fee is $20, and prizes will be awarded for first and second place. Booths are available for $30 and a silent auction will be held. Tri-County Fair

The Tri-County Fair is coming to town starting on Labor Day, September 5, and continuing until Saturday, September 10. Admission is $1 at the gate, with armbands costing $20 each night, some exclusions apply. The schedule of events is as follows:

Gates open at noon and until 6:00 p.m. armbands only cost $18.
The Junior and Senior Miss Tri-Co. Fair Queen Pageants and the Demolition Derby will begin at 7:00 p.m. (Vehicles must be checked in by 2:30 p.m.)

Sickle Cell 5K Run/Walk

There will be a Sickle Cell 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 10, starting at 8:00 a.m. for runners and 8:30 a.m. for walkers. Registration to enter will start at 7:00 that morning, at the Larry S. Bryant Wellness Center. There is a $15 fee to be a walker and $20 to run, with children under 12 for free. You can also order/pre-order a t-shirt for $12, add $1 for sizes over XL. Miss Autumn on the Square

The Miss Autumn on the Square Pageant will be held at the downtown gazebo in Marianna on Saturday, September 24, at 10:00 a.m. There will be two rehearsals, one on Tuesday, September 20, and the other on Thursday, September 22; both will be at 5:00 p.m. There is a $30 fee per contestant and there will be a sibling discount. Down Syndrome Fundraiser

The annual Down Syndrome fundraiser will be held outside of Ruby's Clippers and Curls again this year. It will be on Saturday, September 17, 8:00-4:00. There will be free hotdogs and a drink from 11:00-1:00. A silent auction will be held, and there will also be lots of door prizes given throughout the day, with this year's big item being a 40" smart TV. You do not have to be present to win. The annual Cotton Pickin' Festival is scheduled for September 23 & 24 at Caldwell Park. Fundraising Dog Show

The Arkansas Bully Fest will be held on Saturday, October 1, with gates opening at 7:00 a.m., at the ASU Equine Center in Jonesboro, AR. This is a dog show for bulldog breeds specifically. Entry is $20 per person, $5 per dogs, and kids 12 and under get in for free. No aggressive dogs or dogs in heat are allowed. During the show a raffle-style fundraiser will be taking place, tickets range from $5-$20. Proceeds from the raffle will go to Forrest City Humane Society. JA Skeet Shoot

Forrest City Junior Auxiliary will have their annual skeet shoot on Saturday, October 1, from 2:00-11:00 p.m., at Central Arkansas Turbines, Inc., 1280 Highway 980, in Forrest City, AR.
